If you aware of the requirement for third-party approval before an access application is submitted, you may seek approval prior to, or during, the application process.

The National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) will notify an applicant when consultation and/or approval from a third party may be required. The applicant is then responsible to undertake the consultation and/or obtain consent. Evidence of the consent will need to be supplied to the NHVR before a permit is issued.

Seeking consent from a third party should not delay the permit application process. The NHVR can progress an access application at the same time the applicant seeks third-party approvals. However, the NHVR cannot issue a permit until third-party approval has been granted and written road manager consent from the relevant road managers has been received.
