What if my registration details are wrong in the NHVR Portal?

State and Territory transport authorities continue to deliver registration services.  Participating jurisdictions provide read-only information to the NHVR and is visible to operators through the NHVR Portal.  Operators will not be able to make changes to registration information through the Portal and should continue to direct any queries about or corrections to registration information to their state or territory transport authority.

I need to change my registration details, how do I do this?

I'm having trouble linking my registration accounts in the NHVR Portal, can you do it on my behalf?

For security reasons, the NHVR cannot email registration information to customers.  Customers can request a certificate to be posted by completing a Registration a Registration Data Holdings Certificate request form and form and paying the $48 fee.  

The  online NHVR Portal enables users to print information, export it to a PDF file or download the information as a CSV file free of charge.  The information can be accessed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and the information is current (within 48 hours of changes being made by the jurisdictions). We encourage users to use the NHVR Portal as it is the most cost effective and efficient method for obtaining information about their registration records.  See Getting Started to create a user and customer account in the NHVR Portal.  

Why can't I see my NT registrations?

Administrators of a customer account can invite users to the customer account to view information pertaining to their account.  Customer administrators control and manage who has access.  See Update Customer Accounts for more information on managing users.   You can monitor who has access your registration records through the Data Request Log


Only authorised NHVR employees who have a job requirement to view information can view heavy vehicle registration records.  Not all NHVR employees can access heavy vehicle registration information.

The Expiry date is the true indicator of effective status. Depending on the jurisdiction, the registration Status may continue to show as 'Registered' unless a vehicle registration is deliberately 'Unregistered' or 'Suspended'. The Expiry date reflects the expiry date of the most recent registration and if that date has passed then the vehicle should be considered as "Unregistered".  For more information, contact the state or territory transport authority.
