How do I apply for an access permit?

Applicants should apply for an access permit by using the NHVR Portal. The NHVR Portal guides applicants through the process by collecting information relevant to the vehicle combination, freight task and location.
Operators can continue to submit applications via fax and mail; however these methods may incur additional processing time. The NHVR will respond to fax and mail applications by mail.
