Release 7.2.6 - Recent update on 26 March - GIS Distance and Time Feature:
Users of the Route Planner tool in the NHVR Portal can now translate a visual map into a text-based distance and time description of their route to help them plan and cost their trip.
The new 'DISTANCE' tab will display the total distance and estimated time for any 'Single Route'.
The feature provides users the primary feature of translating a visual map to include a text based distance and time description of a given route. This functionality will assist customers help plan/cost travels.
- The functionality will appear in a tab labelled ‘DISTANCE'
- The ‘DISTANCE’ tab will only be available for 'Single Routes' in any Route Planner
- The tab will display the total distance and estimated time of the entirety of the route travelled.

The NHVR is finalising the ‘Turn-by-Turn’ feature which will be released in the coming weeks.

ACCESS
Customer: Qld TMR permit renewals – in light of permits requiring to be specific to a vehicle configuration, Qld TMR issued permits could cover several vehicle configurations in the one permit. So, as customers submit applications to renew these permits they will rapidly see the generation of permits - one per vehicle configuration on the TMR issued permit.
Road Manager: Qld TMR permit renewals – the NHVR Portal requires permits to be specific to a vehicle configuration. Qld TMR issued permits could cover several vehicle configurations in the one permit. Qld TMR as the Road Authority and other Qld Local Government Road Managers will begin to see individual consents for each vehicle configuration coming from the NHVR Portal.
Note: The above process has already been implemented, this is the automated feature of the process.
ACCREDITATION
Customers:
NHVAS Auditors prevented from submitting applications - To help keep NHVAS auditors within the NHVAS business rules the Portal will now restrict them from being able to submit applications on behalf of operators. NHVAS auditors will however, be able to assist drafting applications.
VEHICLE STANDARDS
Customers: Final approval PDF automatically displayed in IPS and Exemption cases – this benefits customers by being able to immediately view the final PDF approval in the NHVR Portal when clicking on the email notification link.
Road Authorities: Addition of a draft approval view in IPS and Exemption cases – this benefits Road Authorities by being able to view automatically displayed draft pdf approvals in the Road Manager case view.
